Orson WellesARSC Audio Collection

Now Available for Onsite Listening by Advance Appointment: Over 1000 titles!


The Archive Research and Study Center's audio collection consists of a wide selection of radio programming, among which are many of the significant series that were crucial to defining the medium's broadcast heritage. Notable holdings in the collection include numerous episodes of AMOS 'N' ANDY, BURNS AND ALLEN, THE JACK BENNY SHOW, DRAGNET, SUSPENSE, CBS RADIO MYSTERY THEATER, YOUR HIT PARADE and many others.

In addition to commercial radio broadcasts, the ARSC audio collection also consists of:

  • Audio-only segments of special Archive and TFT events featuring discussions with notable filmmakers such as Charles Burnett, Agnes Varda and King Hu.
  • Unabridged interviews with 1970s era filmmakers and performers such as Francis Ford Coppola, Paul Schrader and Peter Bogdanovich conducted during the production of the IFC documentary, A DECADE UNDER THE INFLUENCE.

Please note that the radio collection is comprised of contemporary syndicated rebroadcasts of classic radio programs. These materials are only available for on-site listening at the Archive Research and Study Center and are not available for loan or license.
